Singapore, 27 June 2008 --- The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation has selected twelve faculty members from universities in Southeast Asian countries as recipients of the 2008 Hitachi Scholarship and Hitachi Research Fellowship. They are listed in the attached.
The total number of recipients invited to Japan since 1984 are 278,143 under the Hitachi Scholarship, 103 under the Hitachi Research Fellowship and 32 under the Komai Fellowship.
The 2008 Scholarship recipients will start their study and research from October at each university while the Hitachi Research fellowship recipients will arrange their arrival schedule in consultation with their host scientists in Japan.
The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation supports research cooperation and personnel exchanges between universities and research institutions in Southeast Asian countries and those in Japan.
