Hitachi Wins Contract To Develop "Sentosa Express" For Sentosa Development Corporation

Hitachi (Hitachi) Asia have entered into a reseller partnership agreement with VERITAS Software (VERITAS). This partnership will see the enhancement of Hitachi's comprehensive suite of job management capabilities across heterogeneous platforms, including back-up jobs. Under this agreement, Hitachi's System Management Solutions Division (SMS) will offer VERITAS backup solutions such as VERITAS NetBackupTM and Backup ExecTM as part of Hitachi's Job Management Partner 1 (JP1) suite of products.

This suite of products is available immediately through Hitachi and VERITAS' Elite partner distributors. Some highlights of the enhanced software capabilities of this partnership includes:

• Integration of the Veritas NetBackup (NBU) as part of the comprehensive job flow managed by JP1 Job Scheduler (AJS2)
• Monitoring status of JP1/NBU backup process and provision of status via JP1 AJS2 monitoring console
• Notification to network administrators of abnormal status during execution of backup jobs
• Centrally monitor start, status and result of backup jobs The Hitachi JP1 leading suite of comprehensive systems management solutions includes Desktop, Job, Availability, Network and Integrated Management, which are delivered to more than 6,500 enterprises worldwide.
