Hitachi Asia supports programs of our parent company like The Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI) – a regional community relations program established in 1996. The program aims to identify and groom young Asian leaders by providing a platform to discuss regional issues while promoting cross–cultural understanding.
The week–long initiative comprises a two–day forum, student workshops, and a community work program.
Four students from Singapore represented the nation at the 9th HYLI held in Jakarta from 7 to 11 July 2008 where they joined 24 HYLI students from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The 28 students exchanged opinions with Asia's influential leaders to develop recommendations on the theme, Strengthening Asian Partnerships – Economic Integration and Energy Management.
